In 1928, Mickey Mouse made his debut to the world through the animated Disney short Steamboat Willie. Where Mickey Mouse steers a steamboat down a river. He entertains his new passenger, Minnie, by playing music out of the menagerie on the boat. This was the start of a new era of American animated short subjects.
