What is Gashapon?
Gachapon (ガチャポン), also called Gashapon (ガシャポン), are a variety of vending machine-dispensed capsule toys popular in Japan. Similar to the United States coin-op toy vending machines seen outside of grocery stores and other retailers. While US coin-op vending machine toys are usually filled with cheap, low-quality products, Japanese Gachapon are normally a much higher quality product. They are often constructed from high-grade PVC plastic containing more molding detail and carefully painted features. However, these are not simply toys: they are collector's items, with rare ones fetching extremely high prices.
"Gachapon" is onomatopoeic from the two sounds "gasha" (or "gacha") for the hand-cranking action of a toy-vending machine, and "pon" for the toy capsule landing in the collection tray.
Gacha also refers to a type of activity that involves a chance of luck with gachapon toys (Japanese Capsule Toys). You can find gachapon all over Japan such as street alleys, storefronts, and even at the airport! You'll find gachapon especially in Akihabara Tokyo, the Japanese mecca for amusement and entertainment.

Currently, any promotional or advertised free shipping is for order placed and shipped within the U.S.
How does it work?
At a physical Location
- you first pick the collection you are interested in.
- Insert the amount of tokens needed.
- Turn the handle and Gacha-Gacha-Pon! Your gachapon is dispensed and waiting for you.
The game of chance comes into play when you're aiming for a specific gachapon from the collection. It is truly random as it all depends on the gachapon available in the machine. It is very similar to a 'blind box' and a very fun and joyful experience to test your chance of luck.

- Our order system will handle the random pick for you just like Gachapon in person. You won't know what you'll receive until it is packed, and then shipped to and received by you.
Are all of your Gachapon from Japan?
How often do you stock newly released gachapon?
We stock newly released gachapon approximately once a month. There will be times where new stock may arrive earlier or later than usual.
How long should I expect my order to be received?
Handling generally takes 1 to 2 days. Once shipped, you should expect your order to be delivered to your door within 2-7 days, depending on your region.
I didn't get the gacha I wanted.. What is your return/exchange policy?
Since gachapon is "blind box" there are absolutely no exchanges and no returns to our store. Your gachas are selected from our ordering system and then packed immediately to be shipped to you.
For other items other than gachapon, unless specified, returns/exchanges are accepted as long as it is in brand new condition.
Can I buy a specific figure from a gachapon series?
Yes! As of October 27, 2021 you will now be able to purchase your desired figure from a series so long as we have it in stock. There is a fee associated with this add-on service and it is per 1 gachapon. If you want a spoiler for more than 1, you will have to buy the spoiler add-on service for each figure you want. If you are interested in buying 3 or more figures from the same series or a complete set, please contact us before buying.
Because we have a limited quantity of gachapon available, please contact us before placing an order to ensure that your desired figure is still in stock. You can send us a message through our website or Email, noting your desired gachapon choice.
This add-on service is only eligible on a qualifying gachapon that has not yet shipped. This add-on service cannot be used to obtain the "Mystery" item in a series or on listings where use is prohibited.
- This service is non-refundable on returned or shipped gashapon.
Please help! I received my package but am missing gachapon.
For any orders that may be missing gachapon upon arrival, you must contact us within 5 calendar days to confirm and you must submit a picture of all of your gachapon. We will check our inventory in our system and do a physical hand count to confirm. Any order support for missing items beyond 5 days is hardly ever accepted and is subject to strict review. We are a small operation; we take every single gachapon accounted for and we take lost claims extremely seriously. Should there be a slim chance that your missing gachapon has sold out within our 5 calendar day policy, we will refund you the difference.
My gachapon is broken. How can I make a claim?
Gachapon hardly ever gets broken. Any orders with a claim for broken gachapon on arrival will be under strict review. We take these claims very seriously. We are a small operation after all. We ask that you do NOT open any packaging within your gachapon. If you see a broken gachapon, please take a picture of it immediately and send us the details. If you can do these two things right away, we will absolutely consider your claim in your favor and once approved either refund the difference or reship the damaged gachapon at your request. Failure to present valid information in your favor will likely result in the denial of your claim.
The gachapon that I really wanted sold out before I even saw it coming. What gives? And will you restock it?
We encourage you to follow our Instagram @gachaboston to stay up to date with new releases that we know will help you get the opportunity. Once a specific gachapon collection is sold out, it's very unlikely that we'll have it back in stock. However, we have seen some cases where a series got re-released but this is extremely rare and for reasons unknown to us.
Your store has so many cool things, but something I really wanted in particular isn't there.
